This AgriSETA-accredited course equips learners with the knowledge and skills required to implement and monitor a comprehensive biosecurity plan within a dairy farming environment. With an emphasis on South African biosecurity challenges and regulatory frameworks, the course explores the risks associated with disease in dairy operations and the critical importance of preventive measures.
Learners will gain insight into animal, human, and operational components of biosecurity, and assess their current practices using a structured self-evaluation. The final component of the course guides participants through the development of a customized on-farm biosecurity plan to safeguard herd health and farm productivity.
The course includes TWO days of practical training, which can be completed either at our training facility or on a farm of the learner’s choice.
