This course is presented year-round and is designed to empower you to be able to leave with the required knowledge to succeed in your new business venture. This course will help you to apply basic pig production skills to your farm to ensure that your venture is as profitable as possible. It will help the new and existing farmer to attain a high level of success in production. The course includes a complimentary 1-day visit to our Agri Skills Transfer practical farm in Cullinan to complete the practical aspect of the course as required for AgriSETA accreditation. Alternatively, you can complete the required practical day at any other farm of your choice in your local area should you wish to obtain AgriSETA accreditation.
Included is basic information on the care and feeding of gestating sows, lactating sows, feeder pigs and finishing pigs.
